SINGULAR Coffee.

  • Single Origin

Our farm is named Finca Altatierra, which is the direct translation of “Highlander Farms” in Spanish. It’s one Honduran manzana in area, which equates to approximately two US acres, and is classified as high elevation at 1,365 meters above sea level. We’re nestled in the foothills on the northern slopes of the Santa Bárbara Mountain in Western Honduras.

  • Cloud forest grown

We say our coffee is “cloud forest grown” because it is on the edge of a rainforest with a unique classification — where persistent low-lying clouds provide moisture to vegetation.

Since only an estimated 1% of all forests in the world are considered cloud forests, we think that makes our farm pretty special. This doubles down on our commitment to protect the local natural environment.

  • Specialty grade

The coffee we grow is classified as specialty grade. In fact, over the last decade, the greater Santa Bárbara region of Honduras has gained worldwide acclaim for its high-quality coffee, often winning the country’s annual Taza de Excelencia taste-testing competition. In our most recent Q Grading cupping results, Highlander Farms Coffee earned a Q Score of 84.25 with butterscotch, dark chocolate, toast, and praline flavor tasting notes.
